Whether it’s your first time to the West Coast of Scotland or your tenth, there is always something new to see and do, and the views never get old! From adventure to culture and history, there really is something for everyone.

Inland there are gardens and castles to visit plus activities such as horse riding, racing and golf to enjoy. The many golf courses include the world famous Royal Troon and Turnberry courses; both close to hand, with Turnberry also having a fantastic spa and outdoor centre.  Heads of Ayr Farm Park offers fun activities for children of all ages (& adults!) from farmyard favourites to exotic creatures, adventures and rainy day fun! The park is a perfect family day out.

Culzean Castle, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction; or visit Dumfries House, renovated and brought back to life by HRH King Charles.

    You won’t have to travel far to experience the great Scottish hospitality of Ayrshire. The area has such a variety of restaurants and artisan food locations, where you’ll be able to taste true Scottish delicacies like haggis and cullen skink.

    With roots dating back to the 11th century, Scottish whisky (Scotch) is a cherished part of Scotland’s heritage and identity. Discover the delights of many distilleries in the area from the artisan to the more famous names.

    Ayrshire has almost 50 golf courses including 5 of the UK's top 100 courses and 3 Open Championship venues. With links courses such as the Trump Turnberry. This legendary links course, a four-time Open Championship venue consistently ranks high in global course rankings.

    Attractions

    Steeped in history and culture, Ayrshire boasts some of the best stately homes and museums in the country. Explore ancient castles and learn about the area's rich history, including its Viking heritage. Also the birthplace of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns whose legacy is celebrated through museums, monuments, and events.

    Fishing

    Salmon fishing has a long history in Scotland and Ayrshire offers a variety of fishing experiences, from wild and rugged stretches to more accessible beats, catering to different skill levels. Yonderton has over a mile of salmon & trout fishing on the scenic River Doon. Day permits are available for guests.
